Ola Electric Filed Three Trademarks For Its Upcoming Scooter – S, S1, S1 Pro

Ola Electric has recently commenced bookings for its upcoming scooter for a token amount of Rs 499. It's expected to launch in the coming weeks, but before that, the e-scooter requires a name. In that process, the brand has filed three trademarks: Series S, S1, and S1 Pro. However, these names are still under the ‘examination’ phase and are yet to be approved.

The 'Series S' could be the model name for the upcoming Ola electric scooter, whereas the 'S1' and 'S1 Pro' could be its variants. The S1 is expected to be the base-spec trim with lesser power and range, while the S1 Pro could be the moniker for the top-spec variant that is likely to offer more power, better riding range, and might even more body-shades options. The latest spy images also reveal that the model will be offered in multiple color options including Black, Blue, and Pink.

It is important to note that the aforementioned case is just our speculation and the brand hasn't shared any official words regarding the same. Also, the trademark applications were filed on 14th July 2021, which is too late for its imminent launch. However, there are possibilities that Ola’s earlier trademarks may have been conflicting with some of the other brands.

Even though things are still a bit hazy about the name of Ola's first scooter, it will certainly come with several segment-first features, largest-in-class boot space, class-leading acceleration, digital instrument cluster with cloud-based connectivity, mobile app-based keyless access, and superior riding range. It is expected to get a non-removable battery pack with a claimed range of around 150km on a full charge. Ola also claims that it can be fast-charged from 0-50% in just 18 minutes, which will be enough for a 75km ride.

Besides, the company is also working on establishing a network of 1 lakh hypercharging stations across 40 cities. The initial phase will include around 5,000 charging points/stations across 100 cities within the first year.

Expect prices of the new Ola electric scooter to start from around Rs 1 lakh. Once launched, it will go up against the TVS iQube, Baja Chetak, Okinawa iPraise+, Ather 450X, and the upcoming Simple Energy One.
