Pre-Bookings Open For Ola Electric Scooter For Just Rs 499, Launch Expected Soon

Ola Electric has started accepting online pre-bookings for its first scooter for a refundable amount of just Rs 499. The brand has guaranteed priority deliveries for customers who will pre-book the electric scooter. Its launch is expected to take place soon.

While the specifications and features details of the Ola scooter are still under wraps, the brand has previously stated that it will get class-leading acceleration, largest-in-class boot space, superior range, mobile app-based keyless access, and many first-in-class features. Furthermore, other traits of the scooter will include a full-LED lighting system, LED DRLs, digital instrument cluster with connected technology, multiple riding modes, front disc brake, fast charging capabilities, and more. 

The Ola scooter is reported to feature a non-removable battery pack with a claimed range of around 150km on a full charge. Similar to the Etergo AppScooter (on which it is based), it’s expected to get a 6kw electric motor that generates 50Nm of peak torque, making it capable of sprinting from 0-45kmph in simply 3.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of around 90kmph. As per earlier claims, Ola's upcoming electric scooter will be competent of getting charged up from 0-50% in just 18 minutes, sufficient to deliver a range of around 75 kilometers.

Expect more details on the scooter to be unveiled in the upcoming days ahead of its expected launch by the end of the ongoing month. We reckon the price of the Ola e-scooter can be around Rs 1 lakh, which puts it in the league of Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, and the upcoming Simple Energy One.
