All-New Triumph Tracker 400 Launched At Rs 2.46 Lakh

  • Based on the brand’s 400 platform.

  • It has a new engine derived from the older 398cc engine, with the same base but with a more powerful tune, making it more sportier than any other 350cc Triumph bikes.

Triumph Motorcycles has launched the all-new Tracker 400 in India at Rs 2,46,225 (ex-showroom). It is a flat-track inspired bike based on the Triumph’s 400 platform, which is Rs 14,335 more expensive than the Speed 400. It offers a blend of everyday usability and sporty character, expanding Triumph’s 400cc portfolio in the Indian market.

What Powers The Triumph Tracker 400?

At the heart of the Triumph Tracker 400 is an all-new 349cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine derived from the older 398cc motor, which makes 40PS of max power at 8,750rpm and 32Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed transmission with an assist-and-slipper clutch for smoother shifts.

This new motor is expected to power all Triumph 400s in the near future.

Triumph Tracker 400: Design and Features

Being a flat-track insprited bike, the Triumph Tracker 400 brings a more rugged and purposeful design to the lineup. It boasts upright stance, minilalist bodywork and borrows some of its design cues from the Scrambler 400X, such as the twin-port exhaust, round LED headlamps with silver bracings, and a sculpted fuel tank with kneww recesses.

The other key highlights include a flat elogated seat with sporty cowl, sleek side panels with “400” lettering, and, compact tail section.

Regarding features, it comes equipped with the following amenities: –

  • Full-LED lighting system
  • A semi-digital instrument cluster
  • Ride-by-wire technology
  • Switchable traction control
  • Dual-channel ABS

Like the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X, the Tracker 400 also skips on smartphone connectivity features.

Triumph Tracker 400 specifications

Underpinnings

Based on a steel tubular frame, the Tracker 400 has a ground clearance of 162mm, a fuel tank capacity of 13 litres and a seat height of 805mm. Riding on 17-inch wheels shod with block pattern tyres, the bike gets a USD fork upfront and a rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm front and a 230mm rear disc. It tips the weight scale at 181kg.

With its unique flat-track-inspired styling, this new Triumph seems an attractive option for enthusiasts riders seeking something sportier and individuality over outrght practicality. However, its niche positioning could limit its mass acceptance in markets like India, where practicality often takes precedence.
