New Maruti XL6 Teased Again; Front Design and Key Features Revealed

  • New Maruti XL6 to receive a revised front grille, paddle shifters, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera.
  • Could also receive 6-airbags, a new Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system with an advanced version of connected car tech, and HUD.
  • Will be powered by Ertiga’s new 103PS 1.5-litre DualJet petrol engine with 5-speed MT and 6-speed AT.

Maruti Suzuki has once again teased the new XL6, this time revealing the front facia of the upgraded premium MPV. Advance bookings for the 2022 Maruti XL6 are already underway ahead of launch on April 21.

Revealed by the latest teaser, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki XL6 will receive a slightly revised front facia, featuring a more bolder-looking chrome bar along with chrome surrounding for the mesh pattern Nexawave grille. While the design of the front bumper seems to remain unchanged, the lighting system is likely to get Nexa’s new signature NEXTre’ LED lighting elements. Besides, it could also receive get bigger alloy wheels.

Going by the previous teaser, the new Maruti XL6 will gain a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and paddle shifters with the new 6-speed automatic transmission. The homegrown carmaker could also equip the upgraded people mover with a new Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system, advanced connected car tech, revised upholstery, heads-up display, and up to 6-airbags.

Underneath the bonnet, the 2022 XL6 will welcome Maruti Suzuki’s new 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, K15C DualJet DualVVT petrol engine, which recently debuted with facelifted Ertiga. Transmission options will comprise a 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.

With all the above-mentioned changes, expect the new Maruti Suzuki XL6 to command a significant premium over its existing model which retails from Rs 10.14 lakh to Rs 12.02 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Once launched, it will emerge as a more competitive offering against the Kia Carens MPV.
