New Force Gurkha Interior, Features Teased; Launch Soon

The new Force Gurkha, in 3-door and 5-door versions, will be launched soon. Ahead of their arrival, the brand has shared a new teaser showing the interior and features of the 5-door model.

Breaking Down The Teasers

  • Based on the teaser, the dashboard layout appears similar to the outgoing model, except for a storage spade with a lid above the touchscreen infotainment system.
  • The new Force Gurkha also receives a digital cluster that displays tons of driving-related information, including the tire pressure of each wheel, including the pressure of the spare tire mounted on the tailgate. This feature is typically found only in vehicles like the Land Rover Defender.
  • It will also receive traction control and hill hold assist for added safety & convenience.

  • The teaser also confirms the Gurkha 5-door’s 7-seater layout, featuring a bench seat in the middle and two captain seats in the third row.
  • One can also notice that the 2024 Gurkha will get a shift-on-fly 4WD knob, replacing the clunky lever. The diff locks for the front & rear will continue to be on offer.
  • The 2024 Gurkha will be powered by the same Mercedes-sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. But this time, it will also receive an idle start/stop system, which should enhance the upgraded off-roader’s fuel efficiency.

It is expected that the 3-door version will also get the similar set of features.

Expected Price, Competitors

Considering all these changes, we expect the new 5-door Gurkha to command a price premium of around Rs 1 lakh over its outgoing 3-door counterpart. Upon launch, it will face competition from the Maruti Jimny and the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door, which is expected to be named as Thar Armada.
