The much-awaited Maruti Suzuki Jimny has finally been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 12.74 lakh, which goes up to Rs 14.89 lakh for the range-topping Alpha automatic variant (ex-showroom).

- India is the first country to get Maruti Suzuki Jimny in an elongated 5-door avatar.
- It measures 3985mm long, 1645mm wide and 1720mm tall. It possesses a wheelbase of 2590mm and a ground clearance of 210mm.
- In terms of design, it maintains a similar aesthetic to its 3-door counterpart; however, the addition of an extra set of doors enhances the practicality of the off-roader.
- In terms of features, the Jimny packs automatic LED headlamps with a washer, alloy wheels, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, automatic AC, cruise control and more.

- At the heart of the Maruti Jimny is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with an idle start/stop function.
- It makes 105PS of maximum power and 134.2Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic unit.
- The Jimny is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 16.94 kmpl with the manual and 16.39 kmpl with the automatic unit.
- As of now, the Jimny finds itself in competition with the 3-door versions of the Force Gurkha and Mahindra Thar. However, in the near future, both of its rivals are set to get five-door versions.
