Renault Duster, which played a key role in popularising the mid-size SUV segment when it was first launched in 2012, is now back on sale in the Indian market after being discontinued in 2022 due to rising competition. However, in its new-gen avatar, the 2026 Duster returns as a far more mature product, featuring contemporary design, improved build quality and a host of premium features. - Renault has refrained from offering a diesel powertrain and all-wheel-drive setup option available with the previous-gen Duster.

Verdict
Both offerings offer a strong legacy value. The Duster’s comeback appears stronger than ever, grabbing attention with its rugged design and the promise of a more premium experience with a long list of features. On the contray, the Creta dominates the segment, with its strong brand value, extensive features’s list, proven reliability, Hyundai’s huge network across the country and the availability of a diesel engine making it an extremely practical choice for buyers. That said, the Duster’s looks very strong on paper and could be a great option for those looking for a change and a more distinctive model in the market. But only time will tell how it will perform in the market.
