Tesla Model Y Launched In India At Rs 59.89 Lakh; Bookings Now Open

The wait for EV enthusiasts is finally over, as Tesla has officially made its India debut with the Model Y, priced from Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Alongside the launch, the brand has also opened its first showroom in India, located at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai.

Bookings for the Model Y are now open, with deliveries slated to commence in the third quarter of 2025.

The Tesla Model Y flaunts a sleek and modern, aerodynamically optimised design. Upfront, it features a blanked-off face, with sleek LED DRLs connected by a light bar. The main headlamps are positioned slightly below.

From the sides, it has a crossover-like silhouette with a gently sloping roofline that seamlessly blends into the tailgate. It sits on 19-inch all-black alloy wheels and gets flush door handles for a modern look.

The rear features a clean tailgate design, with “Tesla” lettering and a subtle lip at its top acting as an integrated spoiler. It also gets connected LED tail lamps.

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a clean, minimalist dashboard layout wrapped in an all-black cabin theme. It houses a large 15.4-inch touchscreen in the centre, along with a soft-touch finish & a single horizontal line of ambient light covering its entire width.

The centre console is wide and has a lot of storage, with covered compartments and a wireless charging pad. The other notable features of the EV are as follows: –

  • An 8-inch rear entertainment screen

  • Powered front seats with heating & ventilation functions

The cabin of the Model Y is also available with a dual-tone black & white theme for an additional sum of Rs 95,000.

  • The Indian-spec Model Y comes in a standard Stealth Grey colour, while other options are available at an extra cost of up to Rs 1.85 lakh.
  • Having said that, you need to pay an additional Rs 95,000 for the while and black shades, while the blue hue commands an extra Rs 1.25 lakh.
  • For red and silver colours, you need to pay Rs 1.85 lakh extra.

Tesla Model Y Battery, Power and Range

Tesla has yet to reveal the battery size of the Model Y. However, the brand has shared that the Standard Range version offers a WLTP-claimed range of 500 km, while the Long-Range version claims 622 km on a single charge.

The Standard version goes from 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds, while the top-spec version does it in 5.6 seconds. It has a top speed of 201 kmph.
