What powers the new Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport?

As mentioned above, the new Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport gets a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, turbocharged gasoline direct injection (T-GDI) engine that produces 130PS of maximum power and 230Nm of peak torque (250Nm with an over-boost function). That’s 20PS/30Nm more than the existing 1.2-litre turbo-petrol MPFI engine. This new mill comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Mahindra claims a 0-60kmph sprint time of simply 5 seconds from the new XUV300 TGDI TurboSport. It’s not only furious but also quite fuel-efficient thanks to the idle start/stop function. Having said that, Mahindra claims a fuel efficiency of 18.2kmpl with this new powertrain.

Are there any design changes?

Yes, the XUV300 TurboSport gets subtle cosmetic enhancement in the form of a new gloss black grille with red inserts & new Twin-Peaks logo. The chrome elements on the air dam have also been blacked out and feature sporty red elements.

Inside, the dual-tone cabin theme has been replaced with an all-black color scheme for the TurboSport variant that makes it look sportier. However, there are also red stitchings for the upholstery and silver highlights on the dashboard & steering for contrast appeal.

Mahindra offers the XUV300 TurboSport in four new color options, comprising three dual-tone and a monotone hue.
