Hero MotoCorp’s Vida V1 Electric Scooter Launched – Claims 165KM Per Charge

Hero MotoCorp has finally launched its first electric scooter under its newly created sub-brand Vida. Named as Vida V1, the e-scooter comes in two variants: V1 Plus and V1 Pro. It will be launched in a phased manner, starting with Bengaluru, Delhi, and Jaipur. Its online bookings will start from October 10, 2022, for a token amount of Rs 2,499 and deliveries will commence from the second week of December. Bookings for more places will start by the end of this year.

Vida is also offering an assured buyback program for the V1 that assures a buyback value of up to 70 percent for the duration of 16-18 months.

Vida is a Spanish word which means ‘LIFE’.

Design and Features

With a sharper fascia, sporty split seats, and retro-styled side panels, the Vida V1 represents a brilliant blend of retro and futuristic styling. It comes suspended onto a dual telescopic fork up front and a monoshock absorber at the rear. Braking hardware on the e-scooter includes a front disc and a rear drum setup, aided by a Synchronized braking system.

The Vida V1 electric scooters flaunt a long list of premium features, such as an all-LED lighting system with a Take-Me-Home function, keyless access, a customizable 7-inch color TFT display, connected techs with mobile app-based lock/unlock & find my vehicle, onboard navigation, cruise control, three power modes (Eco/Ride/Sports), reverse mode, SOS alert function and much more. It also gets the segment’s first individual performance mode with 100+ combinations so that you can set the regenerative braking capabilities and acceleration as per your needs.

Hero Electric is a separate company from Hero MotoCorp, which is also run by the members of the Munjal family.

What powers the Vida V1?

While the motor specifications are still under wraps, the brand has revealed that the range-topping V1 Pro variant can complete the 0-40kmph sprint in just 3.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 80kmph.

As for the power source, the V1 Plus gets a 3.44kWh removable battery pack claiming a decent ride range of 143km on a single charge. On the other hand, a bigger 3.94kWh battery pack is fitted into the V1 Pro, which has a 165km range. Hero claims that they can be fast charged from 0 to 80% in just 65min.
