Second-generation Mahindra Thar is all set to debut in the Indian market. It was officially revealed last month. Now the brand has advertised that its booking will commence from 2nd October, the day on which it will be launched and its prices will be announced. Deliveries are expected to start thereafter. This clearly means that the brand will not start its pre-launch bookings.
Auction of Mahindra Thar is going on
Last week, we have informed you about the Mahindra Thar's first unit (Thar #1) auction. This online auction, which started on 23 September, will end tomorrow. Till now, a maximum bid of Rs 88.5 lakh has been recorded for the first unit of next-generation Mahindra Thar. Mahindra will add equal value to the amount proposed at the auction and the entire money will be given to either the Naandi Foundation, Swades Foundation, or PM CARES fund, as chosen by the winning bidder.
About All New Mahindra Thar
All the Mahindra Thar will be offered in two trims: AX (Adventure) and LX (Lifestyle). The AX is aimed at hardcore adventurer while the LX gets the more premium proposition as well as off-roading capabilities. It will be available with two engine options: 2.2-liter diesel (130PS/300Nm) and a 2.0-liter mStallion turbo petrol engine (150PS/320Nm). Thar has been always recognized for its off-roading capability, but with this latest update, It is more family-friendly now. The brand has introduced many features for the very first time in Thar SUV that mainly includes front-facing rear seats, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, roof-mounted speakers, washable floor area, IP54 rated water and dust resistant cabin, a convertible soft top and a factory-fitted hardtop as well. The new Thar is likely to be priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 13 lakh. It will rival the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Force Gurkha.
