Hyundai Aura To Get A Rear Spoiler; Details Leaked Ahead Of Launch

Launched in January 2020, the Hyundai Aura subcompact sedan is performing decently for the Korean carmaker. It adopts plenty of interior bits from the Grand i10 Nios. Though it comes with a generously loaded cabin, its exterior design is a bit polarising. Hence, to attract more buyers, the sedan is set to receive an update soon. It will be related to new features and minor cosmetic changes. No mechanical modification will be made to the car.

As per the leaked reports, the S, SX, and SX (O) variants of the updated Aura will get a factory-fitted rear spoiler. While the S variant will continue to be offered with steel wheels, its AMT version will get a Gunmetal finishing on the rim. Besides this, Hyundai is also expected to make a few other changes to the Aura. We have come to know that Hyundai will offer the base-spec E variant with a downsized 13-inch spare wheel instead of the 14-inch unit, whereas the premium Arkamys sound system from the SX and SX (O) variants will be removed.

Apart from the above-mentioned changes, the 2021 Aura will remain the same as the ongoing model. It will continue to get features such as projector fog lamps and headlamps, boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, C-shaped tail lamps with LED inserts, an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay & Android Auto connectivity, a 5.3-inch digital MID in the instrument cluster, automatic climate control, rear AC vent, wireless charging, multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and many more.

In terms of powertrain, the Hyundai offers the Aura with three engine options: a 1.2-liter petrol (83PS/114Nm), a 1.2-litre diesel (75PS/190Nm), and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (100PS/172Nm) from the Venue. While both 1.2-liter units get a 5-speed manual as well as an AMT, the 1.0-litre turbo mill only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The brand also offers the 1.2-liter petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit.

The updated Aura is expected to be launched in the coming days. Currently, it is priced between Rs 5.92 lakh and Rs 9.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With the update, Hyundai could increase its prices by a decent margin. In the sub-4-meter sedan segment, the 2021 Aura will continue to takes on the likes of Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, and the Tata Tigor.
