Germany’s luxury carmaker BMW has extended the 6 Series Gran Turismo lineup with the introduction of the new range-topping 620d M Sport Signature variant, priced at Rs 78.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it roughly Rs 3.4 lakh more expensive than the regular M Sport variant. BMW will locally produce this electric sedan at its Chennai-based facility.
Here’s all you need to know about this new variant: –
- Features a 2-litre, 4-cyl diesel engine paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
- It delivers a maximum output of 190PS/400Nm, allowing it to sprint 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.9 seconds. It also benefits from five driving modes: Comfort, Comfort+, Sport, Eco Pro, and Adaptive.

- The BMW 620d M Sport Signature offers customers a choice of four exterior colours: Mineral White, Tanzanite Blue, Skyscraper Grey, and Carbon Black. Each option is complemented by natural leather Dakota Cognac upholstery featuring exclusive stitching.
- Visually, the new M Sport Signature variant looks identical to the regular M Sport variant; however, it comes equipped with soft-close doors, all-electric Comfort Front Seats with memory, function and lumbar support, special backrest cushions for rear seats, 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with gesture control, rear entertainment package comprising two 10.25-inch touchscreen monitors, 2 part panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ambient lighting, electrically adjustable sunblinds, and paddle shifters.
- For safety, it has six airbags, ABS with EBD, dynamic stability control, dynamic traction control, electronic differential lock, cornering brake control, ISOFIX anchors, and more.
- Rivaling the BMW 6 Series are the Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
