Audi India has silently unlisted the A8 L and RS 5 Sportback from their official website. Both these models were brought to India via the CBU route. The reason for their discontinuation is yet to be revealed. As per the last record, the Audi A8 L sedan went for sale between Rs 1.34 crore and Rs 1.63 crore, whereas the RS 5 Sportback was priced at Rs 1.13 crore (ex-showroom).

The Audi A8 L was the brand’s flagship sedan in India, which was available in two variants: Celebration (Rs 1.34 crore) and Technology (Rs 1.63 crore). It was available in both 4- and 5-seater configurations. It had a 3-litre turbo-petrol engine (340PS/500Nm) with a 48V mild-hybrid setup, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD system, permitting the luxury sedan to hit the century sprint in just 5.7 seconds.

Regarding features, it packed amenities like ventilated & massage seats, dual 10.1-inch displays, a 12.69-inch driver’s display, a 1920W Bang & Olufsen 23-speaker sound system, four-zone climate control, 30-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, eight airbags, a 360-degree camera, and park assist plus. Now with its discontinuation, its place will be dominated by the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series.

Speaking of the RS 5 Sportback, it was powered by a 2.9-litre, twin-turbo V6 engine. Launched in August 2021, it was towards the end of its lifecycle.

In other news, Audi is gearing up to launch the RS Q8 facelift in India on February 17. Stay tuned for more updates until then!
