The Government of India has recently revised the subsidiary scheme under the FAME II initiative for electric two-wheelers. As a result, e-bikes and e-scooters have received significant price drops. And the Bengaluru-based Ather Energy is among the first manufacturer to announce the revised rates for its product range, which currently includes Ather 450 Plus and the Ather 450X. With the revised FAME-2 scheme, both the Ather 450 Plus and Ather 450X have become more affordable by up to Rs 14,500.

For those who aren't aware, the Department of Heavy Industries (DHI) has revised the subsidiary amount given on the electric 2-wheelers from Rs 10,000/kWh to Rs 15,000/kWh with a cap of 40% of the cost of the vehicle. However, these incentives are only applicable to those electric two-wheelers that offer a minimum range of 80km on a single charge and a minimum top speed of 40kmph.
In other updates, Ather Energy is gearing up to expand its reach to 30 new cities over the next six months. The brand also plans to launch a maxi-style electric scooter in the coming months. Click here for more details.
