Honda 0 Alpha Spied Testing; Launch Expected In Early 2027

Honda’s next big launch will be a born-electric SUV based on the 0 (Zero) Alpha concept, which was first showcased at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. Recently, the production-spec version of the upcoming EV was spied testing in Manali, suggesting the brand is on track to launch the SUV in early 2027. Expect the carmaker to unveil it at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2027.

Here’s everything u need to know about the Honda 0 Alpha SUV: –

  • The 0 Alpha will be the brand’s first offering in India from Honda’s upcoming 0 series, and will be locally manufactured at the brand’s Tapukara-based production facility in Rajasthan.
  • From here, it will also be exported to select global markets, including Japan.
  • The spy images suggest that the production version of the 0 Alpha will retain the flashy design of its concept model.

  • Following the “Thin, Light and Wise” design language, the SUV features an upright stance and boxy shape, with a unique rear design housing a rectangular windshield and U-shaped LED taillamps, giving it a distinct identity.
  • While Honda is yet to share any technical details of the upcoming SUV, we know that it will be based on a new skateboard platform with a wheelbase ranging between 2700-2800mm for better cabin space.
  • Powering it will be a front-axle-mounted motor, with two LFP battery pack options (likely to be 65kWh-75kWh units).
  • Expect it to offer a real-world range of over 450km on a single charge.

  • In terms of features, the SUV will be equipped with a large freestanding touchscreen infotainment positioned at the centre of the dashboard, offered alongside a floating digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.
  • Expect it to also get amenities like auto climate control, ventilated seats, connected car tech, powered front seats, multiple airbags, flush-fitting door handles, and a level-2 ADAS suite.
  • While it will be too early to gauge its pricing, we believe Honda will price it competitively against offerings like Mahindra BE 6, Maruti eVitara, Toyota Ebella, Hyundai Creta Electric and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.
