2022 Geneva International Motor Show To Be Held From 17 – 27 February 2021

After being cancelled for two consecutive years due to the COVID19 global pandemic, Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) is all set to return in 2022. It will be held from 17th-27th February 2021 at the Palexpo centre in Geneva, Switzerland. It is one of the benchmark events in the automotive industry that allows exhibitors from all over the world to showcase their wide range of models & new technologies. We could also get to see many India-bound cars at the 91st edition of GIMS, including production-spec Tata HBX and 5-door Suzuki Jimny. With brands gradually pushing themselves towards electrification, we believe electric & hybrid vehicles could steal the limelight at the upcoming GMIS event.

The organisers have stated that the starting two days of the GIMS (17th &18th Feb) will be reserved for the press, whereas all the remaining days will be for the public. The registration is open for the exhibitors until mid-July to participate in the event.

The show organisers have also stated that the 2022 Geneva Motor Show will be substantially different from the past, assuming favourable pandemic conditions. Details on the concept of 2021 GIMS and the exhibitor list will be revealed in the coming days.

Commenting on the 2022 GMIS announcement, Sandro Mesquita, CEO, GIMS, said-

With the dispatch of the tender packages, we are now officially starting the organisation of GIMS 2022. My team and I can hardly wait to present our concept to the exhibitors and subsequently to the public. We really hope that the health situation and the corresponding policy regulations regarding Covid 19 will allow us to bring it to life.
