BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition Launched At Rs 2.02 Crore

BMW has launched the new X7 Dark Shadow Edition SUV in India. Based on the top-spec M50d variant, this new edition is priced at Rs 2.02 crore and will be available as a completely built-up unit (CBU). Here's how it fares against the other variants of the SUV: –

As the above table indicates, this new special edition is around Rs 37 lakh more expensive than the regular M50d variant. For this huge premium, the Dark Shadow Edition gets many cosmetical enhancements that emphasize both the sporty appearance and the luxury ambience of the largest SUV.

Starting with the exterior, the new M50d Dark Night Edition comes finished in a special Frozen Arctic Grey metallic shade, which has been used for the first in a BMW X model. The striking exterior colour is supplemented with the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line on the BMW’s traditional kidney grille, roof rails, tailpipes, side window surrounds, B & C pillars, and the exterior mirror bases. It also gets aerodynamically optimised bodywork elements of the M sports package along with 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in a V-spoke design with a Jet-Black matt finish.

The dark theme continues inside the cabin. It gets dual-tone Night Blue-Black cabin full leather upholstery comprising Merino leather and Nappa leather inserts on the various parts of the cabin along with roof liner finished in Night Blue with Alcantara. The centre console, on the other hand, comes finished in Piano Black bearing an edition logo. 

The X7 Dark Edition is available with either six or seven seats.

As for features, the BMW X7 M50d Dark Edition comes loaded up to the brim with striking features such as an M leather steering wheel, power-adjustable front comfort seats with memory function, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harman Kardon 16-speaker surround sound system, wireless charging, a heads-up-display, five-zone climate control, Sky Lounge panoramic sunroof, a soft close function for the door, glass inserts on the gear selector, iDrive Control wheel & audio control, engine start/stop button, multiple driving modes, adaptive air suspension and many more.

For passenger's safety, it gets 6-airbags, Automatic Differential Brakes/Locks’ (ADB-X), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), side-impact protection, electric parking brake with auto hold, parking assist with a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill start assist, hill descent control, electronic vehicle immobilizer, crash sensor, and integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor.

BMW X7 M50d Dark Shadow Edition

Powering the X7 M50d Dark Edition is a 3.0-litre quad-turbo diesel engine that belts out 400PS of whooping power and 760Nm of max twist. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox that delivers the powers to all four wheels thanks to the xDrive AWD drivetrain. 

Performance-wise, this BMW demon can hit the 0-100 kmph mark in just 5.4 seconds and can attain an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

BMW has stated that only 500 units of this SUV will be sold worldwide. So, if you want to own one, you might need to hurry.
