Hyundai Teased The 7 Seater Alcazar Ahead Of Possible Launch In June 2021

Hyundai Motors India has released an official teaser video of the upcoming Alcazar SUV. The video features Hyundai’s current SUV lineup – Venue, Creta, Tucson, and Kona electric forms ‘Alcazar’ name stretching over 1km in length in one of the largest salt deserts in the world – the Rann of Kutch. 

The Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be launched in the third week of June 2021. It is basically a three-row version of the Creta SUV that will come with significant cosmetic upgrades. It boasts a different chrome studded grille, redesigned bumpers, larger alloy wheels, extended length, longer rear overhang, and a restyled rear-end with conventional-looking split-LED tail lamps. The interior of the Alcazar SUV will be similar to the Creta, except for the black-brown color theme and different seating arrangement. For reference, it will be offered in 6-and 7-seater configurations with a 50:50 split folding option for the third row. Besides, the 6-seater version will come with separate captain seats in the second row whereas the 7-seater model will get a regular bench seat. Hyundai will also offer the 6-seater Alcazar with a floor-mounted armrest in the middle row consisting of a wireless charger and cup holders.

Features onboard will include an all-LED lighting system, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay (possibly wireless support), ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control with rear AC vents in all three rows, a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, 6-airbags, all four disc brakes, ESC, hill start assist, traction control, front & rear parking sensors along with the 360-degree camera. 

Underneath the bonnet, the Alcazar will come with two engine options: 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol (159PS/191Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel (115PS/250Nm). Both engines will get 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.

As for pricing, the Hyundai Alcazar is expected to demand a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the Hyundai Creta which is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.67 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Its unofficial bookings are already open across select dealerships. 

On arrival, it will rival the likes of the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
