Kia India has begun mass production of the Carens at its plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh ahead of its February launch. Bookings for the 6/7-seater MPV are already underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The Kia Carens will be offered with two petrol and one diesel engine options. Here’s a look at their specifications: –

Kia will equip the MPV with features such as an all-LED lighting system, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital driver’s display, UVO connected car tech, wireless charging, an air purifier, push-button start/stop, auto AC, roof-mounted rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, retractable tray, cruise control, electrically foldable middle-row seats, etc.
On the safety front, it will get hill start & descent assist, six airbags, vehicle stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), rear parking sensors, and tire pressure monitoring system as standard across the lineup. We expect Carens’ pricing to fall in the range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will serve as a challenger to the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and select variants of Toyota Innova Crysta.
