You Can Now Book The Tata Sierra Unofficially

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Sierra on November 25, 2025. But ahead of its arrival, select Tata dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for this upcoming mid-size SUV, which will be pitted against segment leaders like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Kia Seltos.

For those unaware, the Sierra was a mid-size SUV from the late 1990s and early 2000s – an icon of its time that’s now making a comeback in a modern avatar while retaining its nostalgic charm. It boasts the same upright & boxy stance as the original Sierra but with a host of modern touches, like connected lighting setup, flush door handles, panoramic sunroof, and dual-tone alloys. It will also retain the iconic Alpine window; however, it isn’t a single glass panel like the old Sierra.

Interior and Features

Inside, it will feature a dual-tone cabin theme for a premium feel, with three connected displays for infotainment, instrument and co-passenger entertainment. The teaser also reveals well-bolstered front seats, with adjustable headrests for all, along with clip-on sunshades in the rear for added convenience. The SUV is also expected to get amenities like dual-zone AC with rear AC vents, powered front seats, an in-built air purifier, wireless connectivity support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, a 360-degree camera, front & rear parking sensors, and a Level-2 ADAS suite for enhanced driver assistance.

Expected Engine Options

Powering the Sierra will be the brand’s new 1.5-litre TGDi turbocharged petrol engine that is likely to produce 170PS of max power and 280Nm of peak torque. It is expected to be offered with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The same engine will also be offered with the Harrier and Safari.

It could also receive the Nexon’s 1.5-litre diesel mill.

Expected Price

We expect the Sierra to be priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata will also introduce it in an electric avatar in the near future.
