0

The first four months of CY2026 were quite action-packed for the Indian market, with the arrival of a host of new SUVs, such as Maruti Suzuki eVitara, Renault Duster, Volkswagen Tayron R Line, and facelifted versions of Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai Ioniq 5. We have also seen a host of special editions and variant upgrades of some popular models like Toyota Hyryder, Mahindra Thar Roxx, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and many others. Well, the story doesn’t end here, as we are going to see even more mass-market SUVs in the coming months. Of them, the top 8 highly-awaited upcoming models are as follows: –

1. Tata Sierra EV

The Tata Sierra has received a good amount of traction from buyers, witnessing sales of 23,397 units as of March 2026. The carmaker is now all set to take a bid on its popularity with the launch of its electric counterparts in the coming months. It is expected to come with two battery pack options, likely to be shared with the Curvv EV and Harrier EV.

2. Maruti Brezza Facelift

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is set to undergo a midlife-cycle facelift soon. Revealed by the spy shots, the sub-4m SUV will get minor cosmetic changes along with a host of new features. The test mule was also seen with a new 6-speed manual gearbox, suggesting it might get a new 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine from the Fronx. This could help the Brezza benefit from the lower 18% GST slab. Additionally, it is expected to get an underbody CNG tank, similar to the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. This will make the Brezza CNG a more compelling option against the Nexon CNG, which features dual-cylinder technology.

3. Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift

The Mahindra Scorpio N is all set to get a much-needed mid-life facelift update this year, bringing minor design changes both inside and outside of the SUV. The brand is also reported to put great emphasis on the passengers’ comfort & convenience, with new amenities like powered front seats with ventilation function, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, Harmon Kardon sound system and a level-2 ADAS suite. Mechanically, the SUV is likely to remain unchanged.

4. Nissan Tekton

The Nissan Tekton, essentially the rebadged version of the Renault Duster, will be launched in Q2 2026. While it will share its platform, powertrain and features list with the Duster, the design will be completely different to give it a different identity. That said, the Tekton looks like a smaller version of the Nissan Patrol.

5. Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

Revealed back in January 2026, the Urban Cruiser Ebella will be the first all-electric offering from Toyota in India that shares its platform and battery packs with the Maruti Suzuki eVitara, claiming a range of up to 543km on a single charge. While its outer design is different from its Maruti Suzuki counterpart, the interior design is reminiscent of its co-engineered version.

6. Skoda Kylaq Sportline

The Tata Nexon-rivalling Skoda Kylaq is set to get a new Sportline variant around the festive season. It will feature sportier cosmetic enhancements to denote its dynamic nature. However, no mechanical changes are expected underneath the hood, except for the introduction of a new 8-speed automatic transmission, which is set to be introduced in the coming months. This torque converter unit will replace the existing 6-speed transmission for better performance and efficiency.

7. JSW Jetour T2

JSW Motors is gearing up to foray into the Indian automobile market around the festive season this year with the rebadged Jetour T2 plug-in-hybrid SUV. It will be locally assembled at the brand’s facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

For those unaware, the Jetour T2 is known for its Land Rover Defender-like styling. It is likely to come equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, paired with a 26.7kWh battery pack and dual-motor setup. It is claimed to have an all-electric range of around 140km, with a combined full tank range of over 1,000 km.

8. Kia Syros EV

The Kia Syros EV has been under testing for quite some time now, suggesting its launch is just around the corner. While Kia is yet to share its powertrain details, we expect it to share its battery pack options with the global-spec Hyundai Inster, which is available with 42 kWh and 49 kWh units, claiming a range of 326km and 368km, respectively.
