Tata Motors PV Sales Upped By 66% Over Last Year

  • Tata Motors’ year-on-year sales continue to rise.
  • Monthly sales declined by 3.6 percent.
  • EV sales increased by 463 percent over April 2021.

Continuing its growth in the passenger vehicle (PV) space, Tata Motors recorded a cumulative sales of 41,587 units in the domestic market in April 2022, whereas the EVs accounted for 2,322 units of the month’s total sales.

Tata Motors April 2022 Sales

Compared to March 2022, Tata Motors’ sales declined last month. Nevertheless, its year-on-year figures increased by over 50 percent in the first month of Q2 2022. However, the most significant gain in sales is that of electric vehicles, which witnessed over 463 percent of YoY growth.

Currently, Tata Motors has two EVs in its PV portfolio: Tigor EV and Nexon EV. While the Tigor EV is India’s most affordable long-range electric car, priced between Rs 11.99 – 13.14 lakh, the Tata Nexon EV ranges from Rs 14.54 – 17.15 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). Tata claims a range of over 306km with the electrified sedan, whereas the electric SUV offers an ARAI-claimed range of 312km. The brand will soon upgrade the Nexon EV with a bigger battery pack and improved range. Besides, the brand has also recently unveiled the generation-2 and generation-3 architecture-based electric concept vehicles, namely Tata Curvv and Tata Avinya, respectively.
