Tata Launched #NexonEVChargingStories Campaign, Nexon EV Also Gets A Price Hike

Tata Motors has once again hiked the prices of Nexon EV. It's the second time when India's most selling electric SUV has undergone a price revision in 2021. Here are the new prices: –

While the base price of Nexon EV remains unaffected, the asking rates of mid-spec XZ+ and top-spec XZ+ Lux trim have gone up by Rs 16,000. Despite the price hike, it is still the country's most affordable long-range EV with an ARAI-claimed drive range of 312km per charge. Tata also offers the electrified Nexon's mid-spec XZ+ variant on a subscription basis in select cities, including Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru.

Powering the Nexon EV is a 129PS permanent magnet synchronous motor that draws its charge from the 30.2 kW Li-ion battery and delivers a peak output of 245Nm. It also supports DC fast charging that can juice up the battery from 0 to 80% in just 1 hour. However, a regular 15A charger takes up to 8.5 hours for the same.

While Tata claims over 300km range with the Nexon EV, many customers have raised concerns about its actual drive range. As a result, the Delhi government had delisted the Tata Nexon EV from its subsidy scheme a few months ago. But later the Delhi high court had granted interim relief to Tata Motors and issued a stay on the subsidy suspension order. The above-mentioned case has surely affected Nexon EV's image in the market, and to fix this, Tata Motors has recently launched the #NexonEVChargingStories campaign with an aim to boost public awareness about the expanding EV charging infrastructure in India. Under this campaign, the brand will share a number of short stories of Nexon EV owners to break myths, create awareness about Tata's charging station & the hassle-free ownership experience.
