Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the Altroz EV will join its electric fleet in 2025. While it’s not official, its final production version is likely to be showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo.
First unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo, the arrival of the Altroz EV, anticipated within the year, took a backseat as other electric models like the Nexon, Tiago, Tigor, and the recent Punch claimed the spotlight. The shift towards electric was fueled by the success of their internal combustion engine counterparts in meeting market demand.
Tata Altroz EV – What To Expect?
Expect the Tata Altroz EV to share some design bits and features with the recently launched Punch EV. Drawing inspiration from the facelifted Nexon.ev and Punch.ev, the electrified Altroz is anticipated to sport an EV-specific closed-off front grille adorned with a width-spanning LED DRL. The main headlamp unit is likely to be mounted lower on the bumper.
On the interior front, the Altroz EV could incorporate a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless smartphone integration support, a digital driver’s display, leather upholstery featuring a distinct colour scheme, a jewel rotary drive selector with display, electronic parking brakes with auto-hold, and an illuminated Tata logo on the new steering wheel.
Expect the Indian marque to offer the Altroz EV in two range options, Standard and Long-Range, to cater to a wider section of customers.
Rivals
As an electric hatchback, it is anticipated to face no immediate competition. However, potential rivals could emerge in the near future.
