Hyundai Motors India has revealed the exterior design of its upcoming micro-SUV, the Exter, which is expected to be unveiled in June 2023. Here’s a look: –
- The teaser provides a glimpse of the Exter’s front fascia, revealing an edgy and boxy design.
- The Exter features a rectangular-shaped parametric grille flanked by rectangular-shaped LED projector headlamps. Positioned above these are H-shaped LED DRLs connected by a black strip.
- Lower on the bumper is a faux silver skid plate adding to its rugged appeal.
- Other design elements include roof rails, a tall-boy appearance, and slightly flared wheel arches.

Interior Design and Features
- While we are yet to get a sneak peek at its interior, it is anticipated to have a distinctive appearance than any other Hyundai offering.
- It is expected to include features such as a floating infotainment system, connected car tech, digital driver’s display, electric sunroof, wireless smartphone charger, cruise control, up to six airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitor, and a rearview camera.
Engine Options
- The Exter is likely to utilise Hyundai i20’s 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, with manual and automatic gearbox options.
- Hyundai could also offer the 100PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine as an option.

Expected Price and Competitors
The Exter is expected to cost from around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom), and will rival the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
