Skoda Rapid Successor Model (Slavia) Interior Spied For The First Time

Skoda Rapid's successor model (likely to be called Slavia) has been spied testing once again, revealing a few interior details for the first time.

At first glance, you’ll notice that the Slavia’s interior looks pretty similar to that of the Kushaq. It features a dual-tone black-&-beige interior with dark trims on the dashboard and around the centre console. Taking the central stage is a large touchscreen infotainment system (probably of 10-inches) with AC vents positioned below it. It also gets a leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel and a touch-based climate control panel like the latest Skoda models and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

We also expect features like connected car technology, wireless Apple Carplay & Android Auto, wireless smartphone charger, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, front & rear armrest, ambient lighting, Type-C USB ports, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitoring, and an electric sunroof to be present on the upcoming Skoda Slavia.

Similar to the earlier spy images, the Skoda Rapid's successor model was heavily camouflaged, featuring notable elements like a wide butterfly grille, all-new triple barrel LED headlamps, round fog lamps, sloping roofline, machine-cut alloy wheels, and LED taillamps.

The Skoda Slavia will be based on the VW Group's latest MQB-A0 IN platform, which was recently debuted with the Skoda Kushaq. Not only the foundation, but the sedan will also share its powertrain options with the compact SUV: a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (115PS/178Nm) with either a 6-speed manual or a torque converter and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit (150PS/250Nm) paired with a 6-speed manual/7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic).

The upcoming C-segment sedan is likely to be launched by the end of this year, with prices ranging between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). On its arrival, it will resume its competition with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and the upcoming Toyota Belta and the next-generation Volkswagen Vento.
