Jaguar Land Rover has launched the Sport SVR performance-oriented variant of its highly popular Range Rover in India. This new variant of Ranger Rover luxury SUV is priced at Rs 2.19 crore (ex-showroom India), making it approximately Rs 35 lakh more expensive than the Autobiography Dynamic Sport trim. Compared to the standard model, the new Range Rover Sport SVR gets some sportier tweaks inside and out, along with some extra goodies. It is hand-finished in Coventry, UK and developed by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations.

Beginning with the design changes, the Range Rover Sport SVR gets a new bumper with bigger air intakes for enhanced brake cooling. Its brake pads and discs have also been upgraded for more solid performance at higher temperatures. The SUV also gains body-colored detailing at the rear and the SVR emblem to further distinguish it from the standard model.
Besides, the brand has also made some improvements to its chassis for more dynamic handling. It also gets height-adjustable air suspension and the damping hardware has also been harmonized for better performance and body control.

Inside the cabin, the Range Rover Sport SVR sports lightweight SVR Performance seats, which are claimed to provide exceptional comfort. They are finished in high-quality perforated Windsor leather.
The notable features of Sport SVR include Pixel-laser LED headlights with signature DRLs, a dual 10-inch touchscreen system with connected car technology and AC control, Android Auto & Apple Carplay, heated front and rear seats, a heads-up display, an optional 8-inch rear entertainment display, and a 19-speaker 825W Meridian Surround Sound System with a dual-channel subwoofer and Trifield technology for a thrilling personal sound experience in every seat.
Safety, on the other hand, is taken care of by multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, low traction launch, electronic active differential with torque vectoring, hill descent control, park assist, steering assist, dynamic stability control, and more.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by a 5.0-litre, 4999cc, supercharged 8-cylinder (V8) petrol engine that generates maximum power of 575PS and a whopping 700Nm of peak torque. Paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, the power reaches to all four wheels. JLR claims that it can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 4.5 seconds before hitting the top speed of 283kmph.
In the Indian market, the Range Rover Sport SVR competes with the Porsche Cayenne (Rs 1.20 – 1.92 Cr), BMW X5 M (Rs 1.94 Cr), and Audi RS Q8 (Rs 2.07 Cr).
