Ola Roadster X Deliveries Set To Begin This Month Most One Month Delay

After launching the Roadster X not once but twice – first in August 2024 and again in February 2025 – Ola Electric is finally set to begin deliveries of its first electric bike this month, albeit with a delay of nearly a month. In fact, the brand has recently commenced its series production at its manufacturing plant in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.

For those unaware, the Ola Roadster X is available in three battery packs: 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh and 4.5 kWh, priced from Rs 89,999 to Rs 1,09,999. The brand also offers it in a performance version called Roadster X+, which can be had with either a 4.5kWh battery pack priced at Rs 1.20 lakh or a 9.1kWh battery, costing Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Here’s a look at their specifications: –

Powering these Ola bikes is a mid-mounted motor with a chain drive, rated at 7kW for the Roadster and 11 kW for the Roadster X+. This enables the Roadster to hit the 40 kmph mark on a speedometer in just 3.1 seconds (Roadster X+ takes only 2.8 seconds) before hitting a top speed of up to 125 kmph. However, it is worth noting that the top speed varies across the variants, with the 2.5kWh model reaching 105kmph and the 3.5kWh and 4.5kWh variants topping out at 118 kmph. On the other hand, the Roadster X+ has a top speed of 125 kmph.

When it comes to features, the Roadster X gets an all-LED lighting system, a 4.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, cruise control, advanced regen tech, reverse mode, tyre pressure alert, three riding modes (Eco, Normal & Sport ) and much more. It also comes equipped with brake-by-wire technology that eliminates the need for a physical brake cable as it takes input through a sensor to determine braking efficiency.

Underpinnings comprise a conventional telescopic fork up front and a twin shock absorber at the rear, suspended on the 17-inch alloy wheels. For anchoring, the bike gets a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear, with a single-channel Antilock Braking System (ABS) in the Roadster X+ variant.

The repeated launches and shifting timelines have raised eyebrows, but buyers may now finally see the bike hit the road.
