Your bare-bone Ola S1 electric scooter is soon going to be feature-rich as the EV maker is all set to introduce the first OTA update called ”MoveOS 2”, along with a new ECO riding mode and a dedicated mobile app that will allow you to control your e-scooter through your smartphone.
Recently, Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO of Ola Electric, tweeted a video clip showing the mobile locking/unlocking function of the Ola S1 electric scooter. The app could also be used to track the battery status, opening & closing of the trunk, and much more.
In another clip, Bhavish can be seen using onboard navigation, implying that the navigation facility will soon be available for all OLA customers. As of now, this feature is available only in select cities across the nation.

Apart from the navigation, the OTA update will also enable Bluetooth connectivity and music functionality and will bring performance enhancements. However, the brand is yet to share any words on the activation of cruise control, hill hold assist, geo-fencing, voice control, anti-theft, and charging station locator.
Talking about the ECO riding mode, Ola Electric could introduce it in MoveOS 2 which will limit the top speed to 45kmph, thus, offering a claimed range of around 170km per charge. As revealed earlier, Ola Electric is expected to release the MoveOS 2 update by end of this month.
