Nissan Magnite Receive Over 50,000 Bookings Since Its Launch

Japanese carmaker Nissan's latest entry into the sub-4-meter SUV segment, the Magnite has made a splash on record. It is the second most affordable model in its segment after its sibling rival Renault Kiger and offers a lot of value for money. And thanks to these attributes, Magnite has recorded over 50,000 bookings since its launch on 2nd December 2020. Interestingly, out of these 50k bookings around 5,000 bookings came through the brand’s digital channels.

Nissan Magnite sub-4m SUV is offered in five variants: XE, XL, XV, XV Premium, and XV Premium(O). The higher-specs XV and XV Premium variants have approximately 60% contribution in the total bookings and around 15% came for the CVT automatic variants. Recently, Nissan has increased the prices of Magnite by up to Rs 33,000. With this, the Magnite now ranges from Rs 5.59 lakh to Rs 9.90 lakh (ex-showroom). However, despite the price change, the carmaker has preserved the rates of the Magnite on the booking price. As of now, this Japanese SUV is commanding a waiting period of around seven months, depending on the city and variants.

For the people not in know, the Nissan Magnite is available with two petrol engines: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol (72PS/96Nm) and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (100PS/upto 160Nm) units. While the former comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox only, the latter can be had with either a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission (CVT produces 152Nm of peak torque – 8Nm less than the manual).

Magnite’s success can also be credited to its long feature list. Highlights include an LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, dual-tone alloy wheels, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, voice recognition technology, connected car tech, a 7.0-inch coloured TFT digital driver's display, auto climate control, rear AC vents, a 360-degree camera, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, tyre pressure-monitoring system, wireless mobile charger (optional), air purifier (optional), and much more.

Magnite’s core competitors in the Indian market include Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV300, and Renault Kiger. As per its price range, it could also be considered an alternative to the premium hatchbacks like the Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, Tata Altroz, Maruti Baleno, and Honda Jazz.
