MG ZS EV Excite Pro Launched With Panoramic Sunroof

MG Motor India has introduced a new mid-spec variant for the ZS EV, the โ€œExcite Pro,โ€ priced at Rs 19.98 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant replaces the earlier Excite variant and makes the ZS EV Indiaโ€™s only electric car under Rs 20 lakh with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

  • MG has also revised names for higher-spec variants. Having said that, the Exclusive variant has now become the Exclusive Plus and the Exclusive Pro is now called the Essence.
  • The company is yet to reveal the complete features list for the Excite Pro variant. However, it commands a premium of Rs 1 lakh over the base-spec ZS EV Executive variant.

MG ZS EV โ€“ Specifications

Powering the MG ZS EV is a 50.3kWh battery pack, which transmits charge to a front axle-mounted electric motor rated at 176PS/280Nm, allowing it to complete the century sprint in simply 8.5 seconds. On a full charge, it claims a driving range of roughly 461 kilometres.

When it comes to charging, the ZS EV can be juiced up from 0 to 80 per cent in only 50 minutes via a 50kW DC fast charger.

In the premium electric SUV segment, the MG ZS EV locks horns with the Hyundai Kona Electric and BYD Atto 3. However, its select variants also go up against the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
