MG Hector and Hector Plus Prices To Go Up Next Month

As part of the brand’s 100th anniversary celebrations, MG Motor slashed the Hector and Hector Plus prices by up to Rs 1.37 lakh in September 2023. Now, the carmaker is planning to raise the prices of these SUVs from November 1st, 2023.

While the quantum of the price hike is yet to be revealed, it is anticipated that both MG Hector and Hector Plus may return to their original prices. Currently, the MG Hector ranges between Rs 14.73 lakh and Rs 21.73 lakh, while the Hector Plus costs from Rs 17.50 lakh to Rs 22.43 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).

Powertrain

MG offers the Hector and Hector Plus with two engine options: – 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol (143PS/250Nm) and 2-litre turbocharged diesel (170PS/350Nm). While a 6-speed manual gearbox is standard with both engine options, the gasoline mill also gets an optional CVT automatic transmission.

Features

When it comes to features, both the MG Hector and Hector Plus come with all the whistle and the bells, with highlights including automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 7-inch fully-digital driver’s display, auto AC, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger and a powered tailgate.

For passenger safety, both SUVs come loaded with up to 6 airbags, electronic parking brakes, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, hill assist, ABS with EBD, and level-2 Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, auto emergency braking, and much more.

Competition

In the premium mid-size SUV segment, the MG Hector goes against the Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier, and 5-seater Mahindra XUV700 and higher variants of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. On the other hand, the MG Hector Plus locks horns with the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and 7-seater variants of Mahindra XUV700.
