MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition Launched

MG Motor India has introduced the BLACKSTORM edition to the COMET EV, priced at Rs 7.80 lakh + battery rental of Rs 2.5/km. After the Astor, Hector and Gloster, it is the fourth model in MG’s lineup to join the BLACKSTORM lineup. Interested customers can now make their bookings for a token amount of Rs 11,000.

MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition – What’s Special?

MG Comet EV Blackstorm Edition is a special, all-black theme variant of this tiny urban electric vehicle, based on the range-topping Exclusive variant. It enhances the Comet’s aesthetics with a dark Starry Black paint scheme, along with red accents on the bumper, skid plate, side cladding, and Morris Garages emblem on the hood for a sportier and aggressive appeal. It also features dark alloy wheels with a red star accent.

Inside, the dashboard continues to come in a white & grey dual-tone theme; however, the seats are blacked-out, complemented by red stitchings and “Blackstorm’ badges on the headrests.

Features on Offer

The Comet EV Blackstorm Edition retains all the features of the standard model, with key highlights including 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 10.25-inch driver’s display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, a 4-speaker sound system, steering mounted control, powered windows, keyless entry, two front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear parking camera with sensors.

Battery and Range

MG offers the Comet EV with a 17.3kWh battery pack, paired with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) electric motor, which makes 42PS of max power and 110Nm of peak torque. It has a claimed range of 230 kilometers.

Competition Check

The Comet has no direct rival in the Indian market. It can be seen as an affordable alternative to the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3.
