After multiple delays over the last few months, it has now been confirmed that the Maruti Suzukiโs first all-electric vehicle, the e Vitara, will be launched on September 3, 2025. Its production-guise was showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo.
About Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
The e Vitara will be first of the four born-electric vehicles (BEVs) that Maruti Suzuki aims to launch by 2030. It will be offered in three variants:Delta, Zeta and Alpha, across two battery pack options: 48.8kWh and 61.1kWh. Hereโs a look at their technical specifications: โ

While the Indian-spec e Vitara will be offered only in the 2WD guise, the UK-spec version will also get a dual-motor AWD option with the 61.1kWh battery pack.

Design and Features
Based on the eVX concept, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara boasts a rugged and aggressive design, featuring sharper cuts & creases, and prominent body cladding, giving the SUV a robust stance.
It has been underpinned on the Suzukiโs Heartect-e platform, which is claimed to be lightweight and structurally rigid. Against the measuring tape, it is 4275mm long, 1800mm wide, and 1635mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2700mm.

Inside, it features a minimalist dashboard design, with a floating dual-screen setup giving it a contemporary look. Its dual-tone upholstery and soft-touch materials dominates interior styling yet gives it a premium feel.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Expected Price and Rivals
We expect Maruti Suzuki to price the eVitara between Rs 17 to 22 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, and Tata Curvv EV.
