Tata Plans 7 New Cars By 2030; Sierra EV Launch Coming Soon

Tata Motors has outlined its upcoming product strategy during its recent Investor Meet, confirming the launch of seven new nameplates by the financial year 2030. Among them is the much-anticipated Tata Sierra, which will be one of the brand’s major upcoming launches.

Tata will also debut its first premium offering under the Avinya sub-brand, aiming to establish a stronger presence in the electric and luxury mobility space. Alongside these new models, the carmaker will also refresh its existing lineup with significant updates, including facelifts, powertrain enhancements, and annual model-year revisions to keep its portfolio up to date with evolving market demands.

Seven New Tata Cars By FY2030

  • This aggressive strategy will include a mix of internal combustion engine (ICE) and all-electric vehicles (EVs), alongside a significant refresh of its current lineup.
  • Out of the seven upcoming nameplates, Tata Motors has confirmed that three will be ICE-powered, while four will be all-electric vehicles.
  • Leading the pack is the much-awaited Tata Sierra, which will first arrive in its ICE form, followed by an all-electric version. The comeback of this iconic nameplate has been long anticipated, especially after its concept was showcased at the Auto Expo 2025. The Sierra has also been spotted testing under camouflage on Indian roads and is expected to launch by the end of this year.

  • Following the Sierra, Tata Motors will debut the Avinya and Avinya X, under its newly introduced Avinya sub-brand. Both models are positioned as premium electric offerings, featuring futuristic styling, minimalist interiors, and a unique SUV-coupé body style. The Avinya X concept was also revealed at Auto Expo 2025, offering a glimpse of Tata’s high-end EV aspirations.
  • Tata has also confirmed plans to introduce two entirely new ICE models and two new EVs, although details for these models are currently under wraps.

23 Updates Planned for Existing Models

In addition to launching new vehicles, Tata Motors will roll out 23 updates across its current product lineup. This includes facelift updates, generational change, and special editions for models such as the Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier, Altroz, and Safari, along with their electric counterparts.

What’s Coming in the Rest of FY26?

The remainder of FY2026 will be just as eventful. Tata Motors has confirmed that ICE versions of the Harrier and Safari will receive a powertrain upgrade, with both SUVs set to feature a 1.5-litre TGDi turbo petrol engine. The Harrier EV, which is positioned as Tata’s latest flagship, is also part of the brand’s electrification strategy moving forward.
