Maruti Suzuki is planning to expand the availability of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) across its model range. The company is also considering making select ADAS features standard across its model lineup. The company aims to offer what it calls “just-right ADAS”, focusing on safety features suited to Indian traffic conditions rather than limiting advanced safety technology to premium models.
As per the brand’s recent Technology Strategy Briefing 2026, Suzuki has plans to make features like autonomous emergency braking and lane departure warning standard across the model lineup in India. Meanwhile, comfort-oriented ADAS functions such as adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist will be offered as optional features.

To make ADAS affordable enough for wider adoption, Suzuki is also working on reducing the cost and complexity of the system. The company plans to use high-resolution cameras and AI chips, while gradually integrating the Driver Monitoring System (DMS) and Occupant Monitoring System (OMS) cameras into the ADAS system and eliminating the need for a front radar. Suzuki says this approach is intended to enable ADAS deployment across its vehicle range while maintaining equal or better safety performance.
Suzuki says improving vehicle structures alone cannot address all road-accident risks and believes ADAS can play an important role in reducing accidents. Highlighting the road-safety situation in India, the company noted that 177,000 people were killed in road accidents in 2024, with the fatality rate per capita being around six times higher than in Japan. Suzuki believes wider adoption of ADAS could help mitigate many accidents in the country, which is why it wants to make these technologies accessible across a broader range of vehicles.
As of now, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Brezza, Victoris, and eVitara come with ADAS functionalities, with the former being the most affordable Maruti offering in the country to get level-2 ADAS.
