The launch date of the highly awaited Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been set for 26th September 2022, the 1st day of the Navratri festival. Bookings for the mid-size SUV are already underway and it has already garnered over 55,000 takers ahead of its market arrival.
Co-developed with Toyota, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be available in six variants (Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha, Alpha+) and two powertrain options: 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, K15C mild-hybrid petrol, and 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder, TNGA Atkinson Cycle self-charging strong-hybrid petrol. While the former makes 103PS/137Nm, the latter delivers a combined power output of 116PS. The mild-hybrid unit will also be available with the segment’s first AllGrip Select All-Wheel-Drive system that gets four driving modes: Auto, Snow, Sport, and Lock.

In terms of features, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is a well-equipped SUV. It will be offered in a total of nine colors, including six monotone and three dual-tone shades.

We assume Maruti Suzuki to price the Grand Vitara between Rs 10 to 19 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the likes of Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and its cousin Toyota Hyryder.
