Maruti Suzuki replaced the S-Cross with an all-new Grand Vitara mid-size SUV last year, positioning it as a more formidable competitor to the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. After one year of launch, the Grand Vitara has achieved a momentous milestone, surpassing over 1 lakh units in sales.

As per the reports, the carmaker secured sales of 99,317 units of the Grand Vitara by August-end, and the remaining units needed to complete the 1 lakh mark have already been achieved in the current month.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara – A Quick Recap
The Grand Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s flagship SUV, developed in collaboration with Toyota. It currently ranges between Rs Rs 10.70 lakh and Rs 19.83 lakh (ex-showroom). That’s up to Rs 34,000 higher than its launch price.
Maruti has recently updated the strong-hybrid variants of the Grand Vitara with Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS), making it the first SUV to get this feature. It is essentially a warning system for pedestrians and nearby motorists within a radius of up to 5 ft.
The other notable features of this SUV include an LED lighting system, diamond-cut alloy wheels, leather upholstery, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging, auto AC with rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display, multiple driving modes, cruise control, digital instrument cluster, up to six airbags, ESC, hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors and a 360-degree camera.
Powering the Grand Vitara is either a Suzuki’s 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol or a Toyota’s 1.5-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine. The former can also be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit. It also comes with the segment’s first AWD system.
