Mahindra has officially revealed that its upcoming XUV700 will make its global debut on the 14th of August 2021, a day before Independence Day. With the XUV700, Mahindra is striving to set a new benchmark in the mid-size SUV segment. And so, Mahindra has loaded the three-row SUV with plenty of premium features like Mercedes-inspired twin 10.25-inch displays for instrument and infotainment system (powered by Mahindra’s new AdrenoX UI), Alexa AI connectivity, connected car technology, a Sony 3D sound system with roof-mounted speakers, white leatherette upholstery, segment's largest panoramic sunroof, auto-booster LED headlamps with integrated C-shaped LED DRLs, flush-fitting smart door handles, smart air filter, driver drowsiness detection and more.

It is also expected to get features like a powered driver’s seat with memory function, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, auto wipers, ambient lighting, multiple airbags, front & rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, and possibly MG Gloster-like level-1 autonomous driving technology.

Not only in terms of features but the XUV700 is also expected to be the most powerful offering in its class. It is likely to be offered with 197PS 2.0-liter mStallion turbocharged petrol and 182PS 2.2-liter mHawk turbo-diesel motors. Both mills will be mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Rumors are also suggesting that the XUV700 will get a 4×4 drivetrain option with select variants. Besides, its diesel model will also get four driving modes, namely: Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom (Individual).

Mahindra XUV700 launch date

The XUV700 is expected to be priced between Rs 15.5 lakh and Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom), challenging the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and Hyundai Alcazar.
