Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG – Specifications and Fuel Efficiency

Mahindra is offering the XUV CNG with the SUV’s 1.2-litre MPFI turbocharged petrol engine, which produces a peak output of 110bhp and 200Nm in both petrol and CNG modes. The SUV maker claims this has been achieved by optimising turbocharger calibration and ECU mapping. This means you don’t have to compromise on performance compared to conventional CNG models. Mahindra also claims that the vehicle can itself witch to petrol mode when CNG runs low.

Paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, the XUV 3XO CNG is claimed to offer 24.70 km/kg and can complete the 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 11.8 seconds.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Boot Space

Similar to the Tata Nexon CNG, the XUV 3XO CNG also uses a twin-cylinder setup that frees up some space for luggage, making it more practical for longer journeys. That said, its boot capacity is rated at 270 litres.

The brand has moved the spare wheel under the body.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Design and Features

The CNG version looks identical to its regular counterpart from both inside and outside. Regarding features, the CNG-powered SUV offers amenities like black colour leatherette seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Dolby Atmos, digital cluster, panoramic sunroof, front and rear armrests, rear AC vents, three steering modes (Normal, Comfort, and Sports), engine start-stop button, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts and much more.

Competition Check

The XUV 3XO CNG will go up against the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon, both of which offer the choice of a factory-fitted CNG kit.
