Mahindra has launched the 6-seater option for the XEV 9s electric SUV, with prices starting from Rs 25.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Until now, it was limited to just the 7-seater configuration. The new 6-seat option is available with the Pack Two Above, Pack Three and Pack Three Above variants.

First and foremost, the XEV 9S with a 6-seater configuration features captain seats in the middle row. These seats get individual armrests for added comfort. Moreover, the gap between these captain seats also makes access to the third row considerably easier compared to the 7-seat configuration. This also opens up space for third-row occupants to stretch out more comfortably.

Apart from the new seating layout, there aren’t any significant changes to the interior of the Mahindra XEV 9S. That said, it continues to be equipped with amenities such as: –

Competition Check
As of now, the Mahindra XEV 9S has no natural competitor in the Indian market. However, Tata is expected to introduce the Safari EV as a direct rival in the coming months. It can also be seen as a premium alternative to the BYD eMAX 7 (Rs 26.90 – 29.90 lakh).
