Kia Sonet X-Line Edition Teased; Launch Soon

  • The Sonet X-Line variant has been teased.
  • Expected to get a new matte grey color scheme with piano black inserts inside-out. 
  • Likely to be based on top-spec GTX Plus trim. 

Kia India has recently teased the Sonet X-Line Edition and we believe it to be positioned above the GTX Plus trim of the regular model. Expect it to be launched in the coming weeks, with bookings likely to begin soon

Revealed by the teaser video, the Kia Sonet X-Line Edition will get a Matte Graphite Grey color schem, along with a few other cosmetic tweaks, including a piano black strip around the front grille. It could also receive a black roof & ORVMs, bigger alloy wheels, black skid plates, side door & tailgate garnish, and contrasting orange accents across the exterior. Similar to the Seltos X-Line, the cabin is also likely to get a blacked-out treatment and new leatherette seat upholstery with grey stitching. 

In terms of features, it is expected to carry forward all the whistle & bells of the regular model that mainly includes LED lighting, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, Bose sound system, auto climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, remote engine start with cabin pre-cooling, wireless charging, in-built air purifier, up to 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold control, front parking sensors, and traction control, etc.

Kia Sonet X-Line

The Kia Sonet comes with three engine options: 120PS 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, 83PS 1.2-litre petrol, and 115PS diesel engines. However, the upcoming X-Line Edition is likely to get only the turbocharged petrol and diesel engine options, paired with DCT and torque converter automatic transmission, respectively.

Expect the Kia Sonet X-Line variant to command a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the regular model’s GTX Plus variant. Once launched, it will go toe-to-toe with the upcoming Hyundai Venue N-Line that is slated to be launched on September 6.
