Toyota Stops Bookings For The Innova Crysta Diesel

  • No assurance on when the bookings will restart.
  • Gets a 150PS 2.4-liter diesel and 166PS 2.7-liter petrol engine with manual and automatic gearboxes.
  • Currently priced from Rs 17.45 lakh to Rs 26.54 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • New-gen Innova is likely to be revealed later this year.

Toyota has stopped accepting bookings for the diesel variants of Innova Crysta. Interested customers can now only book the petrol variants of the MPV. Also, Toyota hasn’t revealed when the bookings will resume.

For those who aren’t aware, the Toyota Innova Crysta comes with 2.4-liter diesel (150PS/360Nm) and 2.7-liter petrol (166PS/245Nm) engines, mated to either a 5-speed manual or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission that propels the rear wheels of the car.

Toyota offers the Innova Crysta with 7 and 8-seater configurations. Currently, it ranges between Rs 17.45 lakh to Rs 26.54 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), indirectly fighting out against the likes of Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra Scorpio N, and Hyundai Alcazar.

If reports are to be believed, Toyota is working on a new-generation Innova, which is likely to get a strong petrol-hybrid powertrain option, and so there are chances that it could drop the diesel engine from its lineup. It is expected to make its global debut later this year.
