Kia Seltos Could Get Panoramic Sunroof And A New Logo On April 27

Launched in 2019, the Seltos was the first model of Kia Motors in our country. And now after almost two years since its launch, the Korean brand is preparing for something big on April 27. Though details are scarce at the moment, Kia could introduce the Seltos with a new brand logo along with several new features’ addition. With this, Kia could also announce its future launches for the Indian market as the brand has earlier stated to offer a new model every six months in India.

Speculations are also there that Kia Seltos could get a fresh top-spec trim which will make it a stronger contender against the upcoming Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun compact SUVs. Last year, Kia had introduced a Special Gravity Edition of Seltos in its home country, which received several design updates and a more advanced set of safety features, which mainly includes revised front grille with 3D chrome elements, silver-finish on the ORVMs, bigger skid plate (rear), newly designed dual-tone 18-inch machined alloy wheels, new grey colour cabin theme, and a forward collision prevention assistance system along with a rear passenger notification system which notifies the driver about passengers exiting the vehicle from the back row.

While we might not get these safety features, but the Korean maker could offer some of these cosmetic changes to the Indian-spec Seltos. Besides this, it could also get a panoramic sunroof, just like its cousin, the Hyundai Creta. Currently, the Kia offers a regular electric sunroof with Seltos's HTX+ and GTK+ variants only.

Mechanically, the Kia Seltos is expected to remain unchanged. It will continue to get the existing three engine options – 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol (140PS/242Nm), 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115PS/144Nm), and 1.5-litre diesel (115PS/250Nm). They get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with various automatic transmission options depending on the engine – a 6-speed torque converter for diesel, a CVT for 1.5L petrol and a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) for the turbocharged petrol unit.
