Kia Reveals Name For Its First Pickup Truck; Set To Debut In 2025

Kia has confirmed that the company is working on a new C-segment pickup truck called TASMAN. It will debut globally in 2025, implementing a phased global launch strategy that includes markets like Korea, Australia, Africa and the Middle East.

  • The name “Tasman” for Kia’s new pickup truck was suggested by Kia Australia and chosen for its connection to Tasmania and the Tasman Sea.
  • Tasmania’s diverse wilderness and cultural richness inspired the name, reflecting the adventurous spirit and rugged capabilities of Kia’s upcoming pickup truck.
  • The Kia Tasman will blend work capabilities with lifestyle versatility.

Kia’s phased launch strategic approach addresses the distinct demands and preferences of various regions. It considers Australia’s strong pickup truck market, Korea’s rising interest in outdoor activities, and the need for off-road vehicles in the diverse terrains of Africa and the Middle East, including deserts.

Expect more details about the upcoming pickup to be revealed in the near future. We anticipate that Kia will offer it in both ICE and electric versions.
