Kia EV3 Electric SUV Revealed; Claims 600 Km of Range

Kia has finally unveiled the production-spec version of its new compact electric SUV, the EV3. It’s the brand’s fourth dedicated EV after the EV9, EV6, and EV5.

Kia EV3 Design, Dimensions and Platform

  • Visually, the Kia EV3 looks like a scaled-down version of the EV9, featuring Kia’s iconic Tiger face design upfront incorporating StarMap signature lighting concept.
  • From the sides, the EV3 has a clean silhouette, with a long, sloping, sleek roofline that gives it a hatchback-like appearance. However, what stands out are the flared wheel arches with thick, black plastic cladding in trapezoidal shapes.
  • Towards the rear, it has a sporty spoiler at the top and L-shaped vertical LED tail lamps. It also gets an EV9-like chunky dual-tone bumper.
  • Kia claims the EV3 has a very low drag coefficient of 0.263 Cd.
Kia EV3 range
  • Kia offers the EV3 in nine body shades, two of which are exclusive for the EV3 – Aventurine Green and Terracotta.
  • Based on the same Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) as its siblings, the Kia EV3 is 4300mm long, 1850mm wide, 1560mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2680mm.
  • It has a 460L of boot space, along with 25L of frunk (front storage).

  • There’s also a large floating centre console with storage space, whereas the front centre armrest houses a retractable table.
  • Kia has also offered the driver’s seat with a ‘relaxation mode’ function that enables the driver to stretch out to enjoy their favourite streaming platforms or play video games on the infotainment while charging the vehicle.
  • The EV3 also features a 12-inch heads-up display, configurable ambient lighting, a Harmon Kardon sound system, digital key support, i-Pedal 3.0 regenerative braking technology, Vehicle-2-Load (V2L) support and Level-2 ADAS suite.
