2024 Kia Carnival Spied Undisguised In India; Launch Expected Soon

The fourth-generation Kia Carnival was spotted testing on Indian soil again, but this time without camouflage. The spied model is actually the facelift version of the fourth-gen Carnival, which made its global debut last year in November 2023.

Commanding Road Presence

As a facelift version, the spied model looks completely different from the Carnival KA4 showcased in India at the 2023 Auto Expo. It features a more upright front fascia, with a redesigned and wider chrome-studded grille than before, complemented by L-shaped LED DRLs and headlamps. It also features a redesigned bumper with a smaller air intake surrounded by a faux silver-finished skid plate. Towards the rear, the L-shaped theme continues to the taillamps via an LED light bar.

Based on an all-new platform, the 2024 Kia Carnival will be longer than the outgoing 3rd-gen model.

2024 Kia Carnival India Launch

Though the spy shots don’t have the interior shots, the upgraded MPV will feature a minimalistic theme, with a large 12.3-inch dual-display setup taking centre stage. The MPV also features a reworked AC control, a rotary drive selector, and a front & rear dashcam setup. Other notable features will include: –

  • Heads-up display
  • Digital key support
  • VIP lounge seats with the seven-seater configuration.
  • Slid flex second-row seats with eighter-seater configuration.
  • Dual sunroof
  • Wireless smart charging
  • Multi-Bluetooth connectivity
  • Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility
  • Connected car technology
  • Rear occupant alert
  • Optional 14.6-inch rear entertainment screen
  • Powered tailgate
  • Eight airbags
  • The ADAS suite includes active safety features like remote smart parking assist, lane following assist, forward collision avoidance assistance, and blind-spot avoidance assist.

Engine and Specifications

Globally, Kia offers the new-gen Carnival with three engine options: 1.6-litre petrol-electric, 2.2-litre diesel, and 3.5-litre petrol. However, its Indian-spec version is expected to be offered with only the 2.2-litre diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission.

Expected Launch and Price

We anticipate Kia India to launch the new Carnival around the festive season this year, with prices likely to start from around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will be positioned as a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross.
