The announcement of the Jharkhand government to give a subsidy of Rs 25 on petrol had made many headlines in the past. Now the Hemant Soren cabinet has given its consent to this proposal. The Chief Minister will launch the scheme from Dumka on 26 January 2022.
Under this scheme, the state govt will provide a subsidy of Rs 25 per liter for a maximum of 10 liters of petrol per month on two-wheelers. The subsidy amount will be transferred directly to the bank account of the covered beneficiaries through DBT.
Those who seek to avail the subsidy must have a valid driving license and a ration card. They can register on the CM Supports App or on this website. However, one should note that the vehicle’s registration should be in the name of the applicant. Also, the bank account and mobile number linked with the Aadhaar of the applicant should be updated.
