Honda Shine has achieved yet another milestone by becoming India’s first 125cc motorcycle to reach a cumulative sales of 1 crore units. With a robust 29 percent year-on-year (YoY) gain, the Honda Shine maintains the top position in its category with more than 50 percent market share.
Launched in 2006, the Shine became the no. 1 selling 125cc motorcycle in India in just 2 years of its launch. Within 54 months of its market arrival, Honda sold 10 lakh units of the Shine. By 2014, it achieved the 30 lakh sales milestone with a 33 percent market share in the 125cc segment. Its sales had crossed the 50 lakh mark by 2017 and in the next 5 years, the Shine brand has accumulated another 50 lakh sales.

Honda Shine – A Quick Brief
Honda Shine is a 125cc commuter motorcycle that comes in two variants: drum and disc, priced at Rs 74,442 and Rs 78,842 (ex-showroom Delhi), respectively. It draws its power from a 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine that churns out 10.7PS and 11Nm. Paired to a 5-speed transmission, the engine also gets Honda’s ACG (Alternator Current Generator) silent starter system.
Honda offers the bike in four colors: Black, Geny Grey Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Rebel Red Metallic.
In the 125cc segment, the Honda Shine faces challenges from the Hero Super Splendor, Hero Glamour, Bajaj Pulsar 125, and TVS Raider 125.
